Parent Support
It is not just your child that you have to look after!
An important part of being a parent is looking after yourself too!
Parenting is a demanding job and takes a lot of physical and emotional energy.
It can be easy to lose sight of the importance of looking after yourself. If you’re tired, stressed or exhausted, it’s difficult to be the parent that you’re striving to be.
But when you feel happy and well you’re better able to cope with stress, maintain relationships and enjoy parenthood.
Our Parent Support has been designed with practical ideas and support for your own wellbeing and with an area dedicated to help you in supporting your child's wellbeing too.
There are lots of link on this page to support you.
Parents' Wellbeing
Children’s wellbeing is closely bound to your wellbeing. Find out how to improve your wellbeing and, consequently, your children’s.
Here are some of the best practices you can use/ promote and encourage:
- Share worries and seek out support from friends and family
- Live a healthy lifestyle by eating well, exercising, having fun and getting enough sleep
- Stay well informed by finding out more about topics that concern you.
- Never stop talking and listening to your child through good times and bad.
