Weekly News 20.9.19

Well done Kestrels for a great week.  The children have really started to push themselves to produce their best work and have really impressed me.  In literacy, we have started to develop our sentences using a range of activities linked to language choices.  This will helped the children to create some journeys through a picture next week linked to our current class book ‘Leon and the place between’.  In maths, we have focused on decimal place value and how to round to two decimal places.  This is a tricky concept for the new year fives, but they have really taken on the challenge and shown some great resilience.  Our topic lessons have continued with creating a timeline of the Mickey Mouse animations since 1928.  We have really enjoyed science this week.  The children were fantastic when faced with a lambs heart and really enjoyed getting their hands and fingers in to identify the different parts.  This week we have set the children’s project home-learning - we appreciate your support with keeping them on track over the next few weeks.  Finally, Young Voices practises begin next week.  Please be sure to inform the class teacher if your child will not be attending the performance next year.
